Absolutely. All Hailo cabs accept Mastercard, Visa and American Express and you can add your card details in the Wallet section of the app. Then, all you have to do is jump in and out of your cab - we’ll even email you a receipt.
Hailo works by knowing your exact location, and for this we need to use the GPS in your smartphone. Which means Hailo is only available on mobile devices (iOS and Android). However, we do have a brand new product available for our Hailo for Business users - Hailo Hub - which allows you to book as many Hailo taxis as needed on behalf of others. A revolutionary solution ideal for bars, restaurants and reception, Hailo Hub lets you offer your customers a cab whenever they want. You could book 100 journeys at once, if you wanted to! For more information on Hailo for Buiness and Hailo Hub please click here.
Yes, Hailo does work on an iPad. However, you do need a phone number to register for the service so if you are booking on an iPad we advise you to keep your phone close by when using Hailo, just in case your driver needs to call you, or you need to contact the driver.
In Dublin, Hailo taxis look like any other taxi. Make sure you look out for a few that we have had wrapped in our bright yellow on black, and black on yellow colours too. We also have our HailoExec service, which allows you to book an executive vehicle such as an S Class Mercedes. These cars will not have a taxi plate on top and do not use a physical meter, just an in-app one.
The minimum fare for any taxi journey with Hailo is the same as the standard fixed fares set by Transport for Ireland. This is €4.10 at standard times (8am - 8pm Monday to Saturday) and €4.45 at premium times (8pm - 8am Monday to Saturday & all day Sunday & Bank Holidays). Once Hailo drivers reach the passenger's pick up location, and have let you know that they are there, the driver will wait for five minutes before starting the meter- and you won’t find that from a taxi you hail from the street.
No. Hailo works with the GPS in your smartphone, so the only way to get a Hailo car to come to you is by using the app - it’s just takes two taps.
Yes you can. Just position the blue man on the app at your friend’s location. But remember, make sure your friend has the name and registration number of the driver who is picking them up. It’s also a good idea to call the driver to let them know the arrangement and give them your friend’s phone number.
Yes. Your first five minutes of waiting time are free and the app will let you know when your driver has arrived. Just like you, our drivers can be very busy at times, so if you think you’re going to be delayed please give the driver a call. You can do this by tapping the phone icon next to the driver’s details.
Not right now, but we are working on it. Of course, you can get the other members of your party to download the app for free and we also have the option of ordering a five-seater, six-seater or eight-seater cab in the app. To do this just tap the taxi icon next to ‘Pick Me Up Here’ before ordering your cab.
You can add up to four credit or debit cards on an account and tag each one for personal or business use. Plus each individual journey can be tagged business or personal in your Job History. If you want two or more completely separate accounts you will need to register with a different mobile number and email address to your existing account.
